Kelly Huston is an intuitive abstract painter based in the Pacific Northwest. Her work is guided by listening rather than repetition, unfolding through layered process, restraint, and close attention to surface.

Working primarily with acrylics and mixed media, Kelly Huston builds each painting slowly through veils, sanding, and subtle shifts in color and texture. Her practice values stillness as much as movement, allowing space, pause, and quiet decisions to shape the final work.

After retiring from a long career in education, Kelly Huston returned fully to painting as a way to process grief, embrace joy, and reconnect with an essential need to create. What emerges are paintings that balance depth and simplicity—works that invite contemplation and bring a sense of calm, presence, and light into the spaces they inhabit.
